A TikToker has claimed a Big Mac, which was left on a plate for over a year, gathered no mould - and that even the lettuce was still green.
After noticing the foliage on the Big Mac was still a 'deep green' more than a year later, Naa Adjeley Tsofanye has decided to try the same experiment with a side salad.
The medical herbalist kicked off her initial McDonald's experiment with a Big Mac and fries on February 2.
A year and three weeks later, the content creator twirled the Big Mac around whilst remarking there was no sign of mould on the burger.
Bringing the beef patty to the screen she said: 'As you can see the lettuce after a year is still green.'

@tsofanye Its Unbelievable that the Big Mac has stood the test of time and the lettuce is still green. So I decided to expand the experiment and buy McDonalds Salad - what is going on! #mcdonalds #mcdonaldsmagic

She continued: 'This lettuce from this Big Mac is actually quite a serious deep green.'
Peeling the vegetable away from the year-old hardened piece of meat, the woman was taken aback by her discovery.
'Can you see the shine on my gloves? There is still some moisture in it - it hasn't entirely dried out,' she said.
'I don't think it's normal,' she added: 'I really think that's crazy. It is so crazy. Look at that.'
Stunned by the findings, Tsofanye explained she plans to monitor the Big Mac lettuce on a separate piece of white paper as well as a side salad from the fast food chain.
Pouring the onions, tomatoes and lettuce onto a large white plate she said: 'I want to see what happens to this salad.
'I want to see whether the fact that this lettuce didn't go brown after a year and three weeks has to do with the lettuce or the environment this lettuce was in.'
People were left stunned by the TikToker's food experiment, with one quipping: 'This is scary.'
'Not even the germs will eat it,' a second penned, whilst another added: 'I’m never eating McDonald’s again.'
'That’s why I don’t eat McDonald's..it scares me,' a user fearfully wrote.
Others saw the humorous side to the year-old lettuce, with one joking: 'I’m probably still digesting a burger from 1995 when they were 35 cents.'
Another jibbed: 'Skip the embalmer after I die send me to McDonald's. I'll last forever!!'
Upon making the discovery, the medical herbalist has decided to conduct the same experiment on a side-salad from the fast food chain
Social media users flocked to the comments, expressing their shock that neither the Big Mac or the lettuce had shown much sign of decay after a year
'Why throw it away?? Just save it all and pass it down generations,' said one viewer.
Tsofanye has also previously done similar experiments on a McPlant, which she purchased in June 2023.
After three months, the vegan meal was in a similar condition to the Big Mac, displaying little signs of decay.
'I bought myself a McPlant because we often think the plant version is healthier,' said the medical herbalist.
'But the McPlant is just, well not fresh, but no mould, no smell, no insects. No nothing.'
MailOnline has approached McDonalds for comment.
